The sayd Edwards ffridd upon Interrogatories
To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee cometh to testifie the truth being soe<br />
required by the producent Jelfe who is this deponents sonne in lawe by<br />
marriage of his this deponents daughter And saith hee did at the request <br />
of his sayd sonne in lawe pay unto Mr Thompson the producents proctor<br />
thirty shillings or thereabouts toward the prosecution of this suite which<br />
money hee saith the sayd producent hath repayd to this deponent And to<br />
the rest of the Interrogatorie hee answereth negatively/
To the 2 Interrogatorie hee saith hee was present when the Interrogate Henry Jelfe was<br />
constituted and hyred Master of the hoye The ''Thomas and Katherine'' and knoweth<br />
that the sayd Edward ffawne did bargaine with the sayd Jelfe to pay him for<br />
such his fgoeing Master of her twenty shillings a weeke for soe longe tyme<br />
as hee should continue Master of her And that hee the sayd Jelfe was<br />
three voyages Master of the sayd hoye one whereof was (as hee this deponent hath bin redily informed and beleeveth from Gillingham<br />
in Kent to Newcastle and thence to ffrance thence to Newcastle and thence<br />
to Dover or other parts thereabouts and the other thence to Newcastle againe<br />
whence shee returned to Gillingham or Rochester in Kent or other parts thereabouts<br />
And further or more particularly saving his foregoeing deposition hee<br />
cannot answere/
