or thereabouts a wittnes sworne and examined<br />
saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet/
To the first and second articles of the sayd allegation hee saith<br />
That hee this deponent was Master of the arlate shipp ''ffortune''<br />
the voyage in question and thereby knoweth that in the yeares 1656<br />
and 1657 the arlate John Consalvo Britto and Manuel Autunes<br />
Viau were and still are or ought to bee the lawfull Owners and Pro=<br />
prietors of the sayd shipp ''ffortune'' and of her tackle apparerell and<br />
furniture and for such Commonly accompted And that in the moneth<br />
of december 1656 the sayd shipp lyeing then in the Port of Lisbone<br />
arlate the sayd John Gonsalvo Britto and Manuel Autunes Viau<br />
her then Owners did at their owne cost fitt and furnish the sayd shipp<br />
and sett her out to Sea upon a Voyage from Lisbone aforesayd to the<br />
Brazeele in the dominions of the King of Portugall and did as Owners<br />
of her Constitute this deponent Master of the sayd shipp for the<br />
sayd Voyage And hee this deponent did take upon him the sayd<br />
Mastershipp and did goe Master of her the sayd voyage And hee saith<br />
that the sayd John Gonsalvo Britto and Manuel Autunes Viau<br />
at the tyme of the sayd setting forth of the sayd shipp and before and<br />
since were publiquely taken notice of and reputed to bee the true<br />
Owners and Proprietors of the sayd shipp and her tackle apparrell<br />
and furniture. And further hee cannot depose/
To the 3 article hee saith that hee goeing Master as aforesayd knoweth that<br />
the sayd shipp being fitted for the sayd voyage sett sayle from Lisbone<br />
in december 1656 bound for Bahia in Brazeele and arrived at<br />
Bahia aforesayd in the moneth of March next folloeing And alsoe<br />
knoweth that the sayd shipp was of the burthen of betwixt sixty<br />
and seaventy tonnes and carried five peeces of Ordinance and<br />
two Ma[XXXXXs]/
