Busse or to take up any materalls or hyre … Busse or to take up any materalls or hyre any men for repayre<br />
of her nor doth it appeare by the sayd Books that any repayres at all<br />
was done to the ''Minories Busse'' by anyone, though mention bee in them<br />
made of other ''Busses'' which the sayd Corporation alsoe had and of the<br />
charges of repayreing and victualing them and other transactions concerning<br />
them, And therefore verily beleeveth that the sayd Corporation did not<br />
at any tyme constitute any one by the name of Keech Master of the sayd<br />
Busse called the ''Minories Busse'' other than in manner hereafter declared nor giveany one of that name<br />
power to repayre her or take up any of the materialls of any person<br />
whatsoever for her repayre or to hyre any men to worke upon the repayre<br />
of her And further hee cannot depose saving hee saith that in the yeare<br />
1653 the arlate Johhn Keech did tell this deponent that hee had a share<br />
of some Netts then aboard the ''Minories Busse'' and sayd that hee<br />
(after the sayd Busse was fitted with all things<br />
necessarie and repayred and men hyred to goe in her for a fishing<br />
voyage) was by the Corporation appointed to goe Master of her but was<br />
to have noe wages of them for the same but only a share of such fish<br />
as should be taken by her and told this deponent that<br />
hee the sayd John Keech had noe thing to doe nor did speake<br />
to or imploye anybody about repayring the sayd ''Busse'' nor take up<br />
any materialls of any person whatsoever toward the same or pay<br />
for any materialls, or wages of any hyred to doe the same repayres but that<br />
the sayd Busse was fitted with all things for her voyages and manned<br />
before hee the sayd John Keech came on board of her as Master/
To the 6th hee cannot depose./
To the 7th hee saith hee was present and some possession given of the<br />
sayd Busse called the ''Minories Busse'' to the arlate James heydon by<br />
Mr Richard Roche Steward of the Corporation aforesayd in<br />
the yeares 1654 and knoweth that shee their lay suncke halfe full of<br />
water without any rigging or Anchors or Cables and only a peece of a mast<br />
and her bare hull which) then in this deponents Judgment was<br />
in soe tattered a condition that it was fitter to be broken up then fitted out to Sea And further to this<br />
article hee cannot depose./
