a wittnes sworne and examined saith and deposeth as followeth<br />
videlicet./
To the first article hee saith that in the yeare 1653 arlate and Moneths<br />
therein concurring the arlate John Keech was Commonly reputed<br />
the Master and Commander of the arlate shipp the ''Minories'', and of this<br />
deponents knowledge Did take upon him the care and charge of her as Master<br />
of her during the sayd tyme, And further to this article hee cannot depose
To the second and third articles of the sayd libell hee saith hee well knoweth<br />
that the sayd vessell the ''Minories'' did in the moneth of September<br />
1653 stand neede of roapes and ther Cordage without which shee could<br />
not goe to Sea, And saith that in order to the furnishing of her therewith<br />
one Captaine ffernes who was husband or Providore for the sayd<br />
vessell did in the behalfe of the sayd Keetch (sic) bespeake of tthe arlate<br />
John Merrihurst certaine Cordage and ropes for the use of the sayd vessell a warpe or smale<br />
cable of seaven Inches about, and of one hundred fathom and upward of length<br />
and fower other warpes of about 4 Inches apeece about and other single roapes worth in this<br />
deponents Judgment above twenty three pounds sixteene shillings sterling<br />
And saith hee this deponent did helpe to make the sayd roapes and cordage<br />
