To the third Interrogatorie hee saith hee … To the third Interrogatorie hee saith hee this deponent and his Contests George<br />
[?Putt] and Robert holding and others of the Company of the ''ffreeman'' did call<br />
out to the Company of the ''Mary'' in manner predeposed and saith the ''Mary''<br />
was about threescore or fowerscore fathoms distance from the ''ffreeman''<br />
when the ''ffreemans'' company soe called out to them and saith the ''Maryes''<br />
Company might if they had pleased easily have put their shipp a stayes<br />
and saith when the shipp ''Mary'' came very neere the ''ffreeman'', the ''ffreemans'' company<br />
bidding them still keepe a loose, the Company of the ''Mary'' sayd they would<br />
not make their shipp worke, whereby it appeared that they well heard what was<br />
sayd to them at first when they were at further distance And further saving his<br />
foregoeing deposition hee cannot depose./

To the first article of the sayd libell hee saith tha in this present moneth of<br />
September 1655 the arlate George huntington was and is Commonly accompted<br />
to be the Master of the arlate shipp the ''William'' of Gainsburrowe and was soe of<br />
this deponents knowledge before the tyme arlate, this hee the better knoweth for that<br />
hee this deponent well knoweth the sayd George huntington and that hee was<br />
Master of her about easter last and this deponent was then his pylott thereof And hee<br />
saith the sayd huntington during the tyme arlate was and is commonly<br />
accompted to be a part Owner of the sayd shipp And further to this article hee<br />
cannot depose./
To the second article of the sayd libell hee saith that hee this deponent well<br />
knoweth for that hee was at the same tyme pylott of and on board a shipp called<br />
the ''Sarah'' of Gainsborrow lying at Tower Wharfe arlate that the sayd shipp<br />
the ''William'' did on Tuesday the eighteenth of this instant September 1655<br />
lye conveniently moored at Tower wharfe on the outside of two other shipps<br />
then there lying moored whereof the sayd shipp the ''Sarah'' was one, and the sayd<br />
shipp ''William'' laye in a convenient place where shipps use to lye moored And<br />
hee saith hee hath used the sea as Pilott and Master of severall vessells for these<br />
twenty yeares last and upwards and hath often in that tyme moored there with such<br />
vessells as hee went in and thereby hath observed that it is not usuall for<br />
shipps to lye there more then three a brest neither ought as hee beleeveth more<br />
then three to lye a brest and saith the sayd shipp ''William'' was then the outermost<br />
of three shipps there lyeing at the tyme arlate And further to this article hee<br />
