said case of hatts and two packs of linnen the said master signed one bill of lading and<br />
another for the said other twelve bales, which this deponent sent from Roane over<br />
land to Cadiz, and meant to have two others of the same tenors from the said master<br />
or other acknowledgement from the master that the said goods were this deponents.<br />
after they came out to sea, not having oportunitie before, but the said seizure<br />
happening soone after such their comming out, hee was prevented. And otherwise<br />
hee cannot depose.
To the 11th hee saith there was not any other (besides the said John kein) that<br />
was master of the said shipp, or that did or might as hee beleeveth pretend<br />
himselfe to be soe, or that might dispose of her, and saith hee knoweth not any other<br />
shee was to goe after her discharge at Cadiz. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

London Grocer aged 23. yeares or thereabouts a Wittnesse<br />
sworne and examined saith as followeth videlicet:-/
To the first position of the said Libell hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereo./
To the second hee saith, That in the moneth of October <u>1653.</u> last past the<br />
lilate William Marsh was and went Master of the hoy called the ''Primrose''<br />
which this deponent knoweth, for that this deponent did then by the direction of Louis<br />
Biker his Master bring goods both then and sewerall times before aboard the said<br />
hoy, which were received by the said Marsh in the quality aforesaid, but who did<br />
appoint or constitute hm Master this deponent saith hee knoweth not. And<br />
further saving his subsequent deposition hee cannot depose:-/
To the third position of the said Libell hee saith, That in or about the<br />
moneth of October <u>1653.</u> last past the lilate Titus Complaine the<br />
producent in this Cause did by this deponent cause to be laden and putt aboard<br />
the said hoy the ''Primrose'' then lying at dice kay in the River of<br />
Thames one chest of sugar of the valew of fifty pounds sterling one<br />
hogshead of Tobaccoe of the valew of 12: ''li'' 15: ''s'' 10: ''d'' and one barrell packd<br />
with loafe sugar, sinamon, Cloves pepper and liquorice and one skarfe of<br />
the valew in all of 18: ''li'' 00: 10: ''d'' which goods (the scarfe excepted) the said<br />
Complaine had about that time bought of this deponents said Master and after<br />
such their buying, this deponent by his said Masters order did see them<br />
conducted to Dice kay aforesaid, and there delivered to the sayd William Marsh<br />
in the name of the said Titus Complaine, the said Marsh in this deponents presence promising to<br />
take care thereof and to deliver them safely to the said Complaine or his<br />
Order, or words to that or the like effect:- And further hee cannot depose:-/
To the 4: 5. 6. 7th and 8th gee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof, saving hee<br />
referreth himselfe to the Law:-
