hee having nowe brought the said debt book … hee having nowe brought the said debt booke and compared it with the<br />
said schedule, hee saith the same agreeth wholly with both for<br />
the goods and summes with the said schedule as touching the said materialls<br />
and prices, and saith hee sawe the said goods delivered into the custodie<br />
of the said Ramseys said officers and mariners and by them put into<br />
their boate and carried aboard the said shipp then lying about<br />
Ratcliffe crosse, and all this hee saith was on or about the moneth<br />
of August 1648, and afterwards this deponent heard the<br />
said Ramsey acknowledge the receipt of the said materialls aboard and<br />
to the use of his said shipp, of which hee saith the said Ramswy was<br />
master and shortly after the said delliverie, shee proceeded from this<br />
port in the voyage arlate, and that the said Ramsey acknowledged<br />
the said receipt of the said goods about a weekes space after deliiverie<br />
thereof at which time hee came to an accompt with the<br />
said Birdsey for the said goods at the said Birdseys house<br />
and the accompt being cast up and agreed betweene them to amount<br />
in the whole to 106 ''li'' and 16 ''s'' the said Ramsey acknowledged the said shipp<br />
soe much indebted to the said Birdsey, at all which this deponent<br />
was present. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the fourth hee referreth himselfe to the Registrie of this Court<br />
and otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the Interrogatories formerlt administred in the<br />
cause if Birdsey against [?Beale] and nowe repeated<br />
remayning on the file No. 78. [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first hee answereth that hee cometh required by the producent<br />
John Birdsey to testifie the truth in this cause wherein hee saith hee<br />
hath noe share or interest, and well understandeth the danger of an<br />
oath, and that hee is the sonne of te said Birdsey.
To the second hee saith hee was not aboard the said shipp to see the<br />
use and imployment of the said goods thereon, And otherwise hee referreth<br />
himselfe to his foregoeing deposition.
To the third hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid.
To the fourth hee saith hee well knoweth the interrogated William<br />
Startute, and otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the fifth hee saith the said entrie in the said booke of the said materialls<br />
and prices stands wholly uncrossed and unpaid, whereas had the same<br />
bin paid for the booke would have bin crossed.
