ffernandez Caravashall saith and deposeth as followeth<br />
videlicet.
To the first Interrogatorie hee saith and deposeth that hee hath<br />
well knowne and bin master of the said shipp the ''Mary'' for theise<br />
tenn weekes last or thereabouts, and that one John Tilly of Amsterdam<br />
Merchant, principall owner of the said shipp constituted this<br />
deponent master of her at Amsterdam with the consent and approbation<br />
of the rest of the owners.
To the second he esaith hee knoweth the persons of all the owners<br />
of teh said shipp, who (hee saith) are all of Amsterdam, and<br />
there this deponent sawe and was with them in the house of the said<br />
John Tilly a little before hee sett saile thence, which was on the<br />
23th of November last (old stile) or thereabouts, but knoweth not<br />
the names of them saving of the said John Tilly by whose<br />
meanes hee was constituted master of the said shipp, and saith that<br />
the said John Tilly is a quarter part owner of the said shipp, and<br />
that hee hath knowne him (being this deponents uncle) from this<br />
deponents infancie, but for the rest hee hath not knowne them<br />
longer than when hee soe saw them at Amsterdam as aforesaid<br />
at which time they approved of this deponent to be master of the said<br />
shipp, nor knoweth hee their particular parts of or in the<br />
said shipp; but saith they had newy bought her when this deponent<br />
was made master of her, and this deponent sawe the said John<br />
Tilly in his said house pay a summe of money (but howe much<br />
hee knoweth not) to him that sold her to them, in part of payment<br />
for her, but the name of the person to whom the same was paid<br />
hee saith hee knoweth not. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the third hee saith hee knoweth one Marcus de la Rombada<br />
who imbarques himselfe passenger in the said shipp at Amsterdam<br />
about three dayes before her said departure thence, to goe to Cadiz<br />
in Spaine, and soe longe and not longer this deponent hath knowne<br />
him, but this deponent knoweth not, nor ever heard that hee the<br />
said Marcus de la Rombeda was or is any part owner or hath<br />
any interest in the said shipp or of or in her lading or any<br />
part thereof. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the fourth hee saith hee never said to any dutch broker or<br />
other at ffalmouth or elsewhere, that tHE said shipp and her lading<br />
or any part of both or either of them were or was belonging to the<br />
said Marcus de la Rombada, nor ought to that purpose, and<br />
saith the said Marcus neither ruleth nor pretendeth to rule or<br />
gouverne or commannd in the said shipp in any qualitie whatsoever<br />
but goeth meerly a passenger as the rest of the passengers doe<br />
having noe pretense of interest in the shipp or lading one way<br />
or other. And otherwise cannot depose.
