Pibus made by the sayd anchor and Junke he cannot depose.
To the seventh article of the sayd allegation hee saith he cannot depose<br />
further than as aforesaid.
To the Crosse Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first Interrogatorie he saith he was Masters mate of and in the ''Martha''<br />
when shee mett with the said Dutch vessell and otherwise negatively.
To the 2d he saith that the ''Martha'' did shoot about three shotts<br />
towards but not att or against the sayd dutch built vessell which<br />
he sayeth did not shoot att or against the ''Martha'' at all, And saith<br />
the goods taken out of the sayd Dutch vessell were some rolls of<br />
Tobacco some Parralls and some Indico, the quantityes he<br />
remembreth not. and the goods delivered out of the ''Martha'' into<br />
the sayd Dutch vesssell were bread beere fish porke and beefe<br />
the certayne quantity he remembreth not; And saith the Master<br />
of the sayd Dutch vessekk was very glad with and well satisfyed<br />
with the sayd exchange. And further he cannot depose.
To the 3d he saith that the ''Marthas'' master and Company did not<br />
seize the sayd Dutch vessell at all, but continued in her Company<br />
about six houres, and the Companyes of either vessell in that<br />
tyme did mutually visit each other in a loving way, and not by<br />
way of emnity (sic) or seizure, howbeit this Rendent doth beleive<br />
that the sayd Dutch vessell did belong to Holland and did<br />
gather somuch by the discourse of her master and Companye. And<br />
further for his part he cannot depose.
To the 4th he saith he beleiveth the sayd anchor was about five<br />
hundred weight and was worth about five pounds and more<br />
this rendent would not have given for the same. but what the<br />
sayd Pibus had for the same or of whom, or what was the<br />
name of the master of the sayd [?hall] shipp he knoweth not, And<br />
further he cannot depose.//
