To the Interrogatories hee saith that hee was none of the shipps company<br />
arlate, the time arlate, and that hee is not to have or expecteth any thinge fpr<br />
his deposition, and was brought hither to bee a witnes at the entreaty<br />
of the gentleman that brought him now to bee examined but his name<br />
hee knoweth not. and further or otherwise hee cannot depose./

a witnes sworne and Examined saith and deposeth<br />
as followeth videlicet
To the 7th article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that<br />
hee hath knowne the arlate david Cant these 12 yeares<br />
last past dureing which time the said Cant hath sailed with<br />
this deponents father and this deponents brother, and<br />
this deponent who are and were all masters of vessells for divers yeares sometimes takeing a charge<br />
as Pilott, and is in this deponents iudgment and knowledge a<br />
very able and sufficient pilot between yarmouth and the<br />
parts adiacent for this Port of London, and is this<br />
deponents mate aboard the ''Elizabeth'' of Yarmouth of which this<br />
deponent is now aster and for a very sufficient Pilot the said<br />
Cant att yarmouth and att other places where hee is knowne<br />
is commonly accompted and reputed and further cannot depose./

To the Interrogatoryes hee saith that the gentleman that brought him hither<br />
to bee Examined was hee that entreated him to come to testifye his<br />
knowledge in this cause but his name hee knoweth not. and that hee is<br />
not promised any thinge for his deposition, nor expecteth anything<br />
for his paines and to the rest of the Interrogatory hee cannot answer being none<br />
of the shipps company interrogate./.
