To the first second and third Articles of … To the first second and third Articles of the sayd allegation this deponent saith<br />
and deposeth that the arlate Christian Cloppenburgh master of the sayd <br />
shipp the ''Salvador'' did lade aboard the sayd shipp in the bay of ''Salvador''

for his owne proper use and account all and singular the goods and moneys
[SECOND MARK]
hereafter specifyed that is to say eight butts of packs of the first mark <br />
in the margent three patachoes of Tobacco of the second marke in the margent
[THIRD MARK]
one Chest of sugar without marke. one bagg of moneys sent the [?]<br />
hundred peices of eight of the Coyne of mexico marked with that<br />
third marke in the margent, and the [?] of eight butts of [?] [?]<br />
of the sayd third marke of the margent, to be transported to Ostend and<br />
there to be disposed of the use of him the sayd Christian Cloppenburgh<br />
And saith that the arlate John [?] att the tyme and place aforesayd<br />
did lade aboard the sayd shipp for his owne Accompt the other [?]<br />
the sayd eight butts of Pack marked with the sayd third marke in the margent<br />
and allso four hundred ninety six peeces of Camipeika[?] wood to be in<br />
the sayd shipp from Cadiz transported to Ostend and there to be disposed<br />
of by Christian Cloppenburgh aforesayd to the use and accompt of<br />
him the sayd John [?]; and further saith that in the sayd month<br />
of October the sayd Christian Cloppenburgh <br />
and John [?] were and att presente are and ought to be the true <br />
and lawful Owners of the sayd severall goods and money as laden<br />
by them respectively as aforesayd. [?] the sayd Christian Cloppenburgh<br />
of the eight butts of Pack of the first marke one mayeth of 8 butts<br />
of pack of the third marke, there pacachoe of [?] of the second [?] of<br />
one chest of sugar, without marke and the sayd bagg of sylver of the<br />
the sayd third marke, and the sayd John [?] of the sayd [?] of<br />
eight butts of Pack of the sayd third marke, and the sayd 496 peices of <br />
Campeche[?] wood, which he knoweth to be true seeing the sayd moneys<br />
and goods laden as aforesayd and knowing they were bought and<br />
procured in Spaine by the sayd parties respectively for the respective<br />
Accompts as aforesayd. And further he cannot depose<br />
To the fourth he saith that over and besides the sayd goods that were <br />
laden att Cadiz aboard the sayd shipp the tyme aforesaid three butts of<br />
[?] for the Accompt of some of the mariners another of the second mark<br />
in the margent, another of the third marke in the margent to<br />
be transported from Cadiz to Osten and there to be disposed of the sayd <br />
mariners who in the sayd month of October were and att present are<br />
the owners and proprietors of the sayd three butts of [?] which he<br />
knoweth being one of the sayd shipps company and seing the [?]<br />
had and done as aforesayd. And further he cannot depose.
To the fifth he saith that after the lading of the forementioned producent<br />
moneys of the sayd shipp sett sayle from Cadiz and in her course towards<br />
Ostend was seized by some of the shipps of this Commonwealth and saith<br />
that att the tyme of seizure all the sayd goods and moneys wereabouts<br />
her[?] and came to the [?} of the Takers; which he [?} being<br />
Steersman of the sayd shipp and aboard her att the sayd tyme of seizure <br />
And further he cannot depose
To the 6.7. and 8th he saith that the sayd Christian Cloppenburgh as a <br />
native and [?] of Hamburgh and there hath his course and [?] by<br />
and is a subject of the free state of Hamburgh and [?] and hath<br />
by common repute lived in hamburgh all his tyme and for five years<br />
last past this deponents hath knowne him a Burgher there. And saith the <br />
sayd John [?] by Comon repute is a native of Hamburgh, and lives at<br />
Sivill in Spaine where this deponent hath knowne for theis four years <br />
nowowne for theis four years <br />
