parish London merchant aged 30 yeares or<br />
Thereabouts a witnes sworne and examined<br />
deposeth and saith as followeth videlicet.
To the first articles of the said allegation This deponent saith that for divers<br />
yeares now last past the arlate Daniel Skynner hath bene an<br />
usuall trader to france for wines and other goods, and that<br />
the arlate John Vanputte is his factor and presides att Bordeaux<br />
and is commonly accounted a fflandrian and does busines att<br />
Bourdeaux as a factor and for a factor is commonly accounted the<br />
premisses he knoweth being the brother of the producent and knowing<br />
well that the sayd Vanputte was the factor of this deponents<br />
father who used the same trade to ffrance that the arlate<br />
Daniel Skinner now doth. And otherwise cannot depose.
To the 2d article of the sayd allegation and the three schedules thereunto annexed<br />
this deponent saith that the said schedules were sent to this deponent<br />
from the arlate Daniel Skinner as and for the true and<br />
originall letter of advise factory and bill of lading for<br />
the thirty five tonnes of wynes now in question, and this<br />
deponent doth beleive that they are true and reall and the<br />
Contents hereof so had and done as herein is conteyned<br />
And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the third article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that the arlate<br />
Daniel Skinner by his letter of the tenth of December 1653 last<br />
past which came to this examinates hands here in London about 11 or 12. day<br />
of the same moneth did acquaint him this deponent that he had<br />
thirty five tonnes of wynes comeing from Bourdeaux into the English Channell<br />
in a Swedish shipp the ''Usddome'' of Stockholme and that<br />
the same were consigned for Dunkirke, but that he had<br />
a desire to have the same disposed of att London and heretofore<br />
desired this deponent to make and use meanes for a license<br />
for bringing the same to London if it might be, or to procure<br />
the same to be [XXXXX] by the officers of the Customs house, but<br />
desired this deponent to use all expedition for that a convoy was<br />
attending in the downes to [?waft] severall shipps for Dunkirke in which<br />
noe doubt the said the Master of the ''Usddome'' would goe to his designed [XXX]<br />
