the moneth of June 1652. and being laden t … the moneth of June 1652. and being laden the sayd shipp ''James'' still<br />
conducted by this deponent arrived therewith safely about July then<br />
next following att Copenhagen in denmarke. And further cannot<br />
depose.
To the 4th article of the sayd allegation this deponent saith that<br />
was a new staunch and well built shipp of the burthen of neare<br />
two hundred tonnes with 4 gunnes and all things necessary and<br />
was really worth with her gunnes furnitue apparell and mun[itions]<br />
the sume of 1400 ''li'' sterling. and for a lesser summe this deponent<br />
would not have sold her. and otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 5th article of the sayd allegation this deponent saith that the sayd shipp [with]<br />
all the foresayd goods on board her continued att Copenhagen till the mon[th]<br />
of September 1652 and being then to have come for England with a comp[any]<br />
of English men of war was there detayned and stayd and not<br />
suffered to proceed upon her voyage. and saith that in [ffebruary]<br />
her next [enseing] the sayd shipp ''James'' whereupon the [?foresaid]<br />
goods and Cloathes then likewise were), was by the authority [of]<br />
the King of Denmark and by his ministers absolutely seized<br />
by force and this deponent and shipps company wholly taken<br />
out of possesion of her and her foresayd lading where by the sayd<br />
shipp goods Clothes and necessaryes aforesayd of the respective<br />
value aforesayd were and are wholly and absolutely lost to the<br />
foresayd respective true owners thereof. And otherwise cannot<br />
depose.
To the 6th article of the sayd allegation he saith that by reason of the<br />
seizure the owners of the sayd shipp have suffered other [?XXXX<br />
[losses] to [?pay] in freight of the merchants goods in the sayd voyage<br />
250 ''li'' sterling. And in wages and victuall for the mariners<br />
of the said shipp 156 ''li''. And this deponent and shipps<br />
Company have suffered dammage in losse and and expenses and<br />
travayle home for England 300 livres sterling over and beyond<br />
the losse of improvement of the stock of the sayd moneyes. And<br />
otherwise he cannot depose.

did att Ipswich build the sayd shipp the ''James'' for their owne use and [in]<br />
May 1652 she was ymployed by her sayd Owners under conduct of [the]<br />
sayd Raymond upon a voyage from Ipswich to Dantzick and Quinsb[orough]<br />
