goods in the ''Young Boar''
The 27th day of October. 1653.<br />
Examined vpon the sayd Allegation.
'''Andreas Hawkes''' of Revel in Lufland under<br />
the Crowne of Sweden merchant aged one and<br />
twenty yeares or thereabout a witnes sworne and<br />
examined deposeth and saith as followeth
To the first Article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that in the monethes<br />
of May June and July last 1653 the arlate John Hawkes<br />
was and att present is the lawfull owner of twenty lasts of Rye and f[our?]<br />
and twenty lasts of barley schedulat. and the sayd Jamb? Hoffer??<br />
the tyme aforesayd was and now is the lawfull owner of twenty lasts of <br />
Rye and twenty lasts of barley. And the sayd Claes Steding was and is<br />
the lawfull Owner of ten lasts of Rye. And the sayd Constance<br />
Corfemaker then was and now is the lawfull Owner of twenty three<br />
shipp pound of fflax which is in English weight six thowsand nyne<br />
hundred pound weight; And the sayd Derrick Hetling then was and<br />
now is Lawfull owner of twenty shipp pound of Muscovy leather<br />
which is in ordinary English weight six thousand pound weight. And<br />
the sayd Matthias Witt then was and now is the lawfull Owner of eleven<br />
lasts of Rye. And Thomas Eyke was and is lawfull Owner of five lasts<br />
of Wheate schedulat, And the sayd Hans Loer then was and now is the <br />
lawfull Owner of eight lasts of Rye. and Claes Yat or fflorez Yatt was then and is<br />
the Owner of six lasts of Barly, The Reason of this deponents Knowledge<br />
of the premisses was and is that he Knoweth well all the sayd persons and<br />
that they are merchants of good esteeme that doe vsually trage in such<br />
goods, and hath credibly heard and verily beleiveth that they the foresayd<br />
respective Owners did att Revell in May last lade all and singular the <br />
foresayd goods for their respective Accompts as aforesayd aboard the<br />
sayd shipp the 'Young Boer', and they have by letters signified to this<br />
deponent that they the sayd Claymers were and are the lawfull and <br />
sole Owners of the sayd goods respectively mentioned as aforesayd. <br />
And otherwise he cannot depose.
To the second third fourth and fifth articles of the sayd allegation This deponent<br />
saith that he hath credibly Heard and verily beleiveth that the foresayd respect[ive]<br />
persons did att Revell in May last past by themselves severally lade aboard<br />
the sayd shipp 'Young Boer' Jacob Cornelison Master all and singular the<br />
goods before severally mentioned for their owne Accompts respectively<br />
and that they consigned the same to their respective factors att Amsterdam<br />
to be in the sayd shipp transported to Amsterdam and there to be delivered <br />
to their respective factors to whom they were consigned, and that they<br />
did severally and respectively send with the sayd goods letters of advise <br />
to their sayd factors for disposeing of the sayd goods to the sayd Owners<br />
Accompt respectively, and that the sayd shipp 'Young Boer' sett sayle<br />
and departed with the sayd goods from Revell and in her Course to<br />
Amsterdam was taken and seized by some of the shipps of this Commonwealth<br />
and that the sayd goods and letters of advise were then aboard her<br />
and came into the possession of the Takers. and farther cannot depose<br />
saving that noe dutchman or other subiect of the States of the vnited <br />
Provinces or french King or of any Prince or State in hostility<br />
with this Commonwealth had or hath any share or Interest there in the sayd<br />
goods or any of them.the sayd<br />
