eate and drinke with him who hee saith is a dutchman, And further hee knoweth not

aged 40 yeares or thereabouts, sworne and examined.
To the first article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that hee well<br />
knoweth the producent Peter [?Volaix], and saith hee hath bin for all the<br />
time arlate and is the true, lawfull and sole owner and proprietor of the<br />
shipp the ''winter kinge'' arlate and of her tackle apparell and furniture<br />
and soe commonly accompted, of which shipp hee this deponent hath (as hee<br />
saith) bin master for theise fifteene monethes last or thereabouts; And<br />
saith that the said Peter [?Velinx] was and is a dutchman, borne at<br />
Tervie[?n] in Zealand, and that hee was and is an Inhabitant and one<br />
of the Magistrates of fflushing, and a subiect of the Lords the States of<br />
the United Netherland Provinces (betwixt whom and this nation there was<br />
and is peace and amitie) and for such commonly accompted and reputed,<br />
which hee knoweth being himselfe an Inhabitant of fflushing where hee<br />
was borne and hath dwelt there all his time.
To the second article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that within the<br />
time aforesaid, and more particularly in or about the moneth of June last<br />
the said Peter [?Veluix] by his factor a Mr Basserada laded and caused the said<br />
shipp the ''winter kinge'' to be laden at doulon in Quinparly in Bretany with<br />
thirtie tonnes or thereabouts of Rie and about fourteene tonnes of wheat<br />
to be thence transported to fflushing for his the said producents accompt, and<br />
over and besides the same, hee saith there were alsoe two tonnes of wheate<br />
laden for this deponents accompt and one tonne of wheate for accompt of the<br />
Steersman and company to be carried and transported as aforesaid for their<br />
respective accompts, all which hee knoweth being then master of the said<br />
shipp and seeing the said corne laden, and signing bills of lading for his<br />
the said [?VXXaix] his said corne, And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the third article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that the said<br />
shipp the ''winter kinge'' being and remayning at Saint Mallos in ffrance, hee this<br />
deponent in or about the moneth of May last had and there received letters<br />
from his said owner the producent ordering him not to undertake any freight<br />
but to goe and lade corne for his the said [?Velaix] his accompt at such place<br />
as hee should be directed by the arlate Basserada and Voppens his<br />
factors, then resident at Nantes, to whom (as hee wrote to this deponent)<br />
hee had given order to lade the said shipp with corne for fflushing for<br />
his accompt, or to the same effect. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
