Examined upon an allegation given in on the behalfe<br />
of the said [XXXx].

aged 45 yeares or thereabouts, sworne and examined.
To the first article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that in and for<br />
all the time arlat, videlicet for and during a yeares space last past and upwards<br />
the producent Peter [?Velinx] (who was and is very well knowne unto him this<br />
deponent) hath bin and is the sole owner and proprietor of the said shipp the<br />
''Winter kinge'' and of her tackle apparell and furniture, and for such commonly<br />
accompted and reputed, and saith that hee the said [?velinx] is a dutchman borne<br />
betweene whom and this Nation there was and is peace and amitie. All<br />
which hee knoweth being himselfe an Inhabitant of fflushing where hee hath<br />
knowne the said [?Veluix] to have dwelt from his youth. And otherwise<br />
saving what followeth hee cannot depose.

To the second article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that within<br />
the said time and more particularly in the moneth of June last past the said<br />
Peter [?Veluix] by his factor Monsieur Basserada laded<br />
the said shipp the ''Winter kinge'' with Rice and wheate at doulau in<br />
Quinparley in Bretany, amounting to 30 lastes of Rice and wheate as hee hath<br />
heard the quantitie estimated) to be thence carried and transported in the said<br />
shipp for fflushing arlate for the proper accompt of him the said<br />
Peter [?Veluix], which hee knoweth being steersman of the said vessell and seeing<br />
the said corne soe laden, and besides the same hee saith there were two<br />
tonnes of wheate laden by and for the masters and one tonne of wheate<br />
for this deponent and the rest of the companys accompte, aboard the said shipp<br />
And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the third article hee saith that the said shipp the ''Winter kinge'' within the time<br />
arlate was and remained at Saint Mal[?a]s in ffrance, and while shee soe remained<br />
there the skipper Cornelius Johnson vander Velde had and received a letter from<br />
the said Peter [?Veluix] the producent ordering him the said skipper that hee<br />
should not undertake any freight or lett out the said shipp to any person, but<br />
should goe and lade Corne for the Accompt of the said [?Veluix] att such place only<br />
as hee should be directed by the arlate Basserada and Coppens or the ffactors of the s[?aid]<br />
[?Velux] who were then [?resident] at Nantes, unto whome hee saith hee did [XXXXX[ to the said<br />
Master and gave order for the ladeing of the said shipp with corne, and that he should<br />
come with the same for fflushing upon his the said [?Vellux] accompt which hee doth<br />
depose for that he hath seene a letter to that purpose written to the said ffactors<br />
from the said V[?elux] and otherwise hee cannot depose./
To the 4th article he saith and deposeth that within few dayes after the direction and<br />
letters came to the hands of the said ffactors the said Master did take in and receive<br />
the ladeing of Corne by the direction and order of the said Bas[X]erda and Coppins, and did<br />
therewith saile with his said shipp from Saint Mallows to do[X]lau in Quin[X]arley aforesaid<br />
and there safely arrived with ladeing hee saith was accordingly done by the<br />
said Bass[XX]cada att dowla[?u] or by his Agents and shipped abord the said shipp to be [?caried GUTTER]<br />
and transported to fflushing for the proper Accompt of the said [XXXlaix] And further<br />
hee saith hee cannot depose./
