aged 32 yeares or thereabouts sworne before the<br />
right worshippfull John Exton doctor of lawes one of the Judges<br />
of the high Court of the Admiraltie saith and deposeth by vertue of his oath.
That hee this deponent on or about the thre and twentieth dat<br />
of Aprill last past as factor for Christofer Polde of hamborough<br />
merchant and by his order did in this port of London lade aboard<br />
the shipp the ''Brazil frigot'' (Anthony Tutchin master)<br />
two bales conteyning twenty peeces of bayes marked and numbred<br />
as in the margin, to be carried and transported amongest other English<br />
merchants goods to Lisborne in the said shipp, and there to be delivered<br />
to John Guell a dutch merchant there resident, for the proper<br />
accompt of the said Christofer Polde, whereof hee hath and is<br />
readie to show the originall bill of lading signed by John Childe<br />
the said Tutchins purser. And saith that<br />
hee this deponent being a hamburger well knoweth the said Christofer<br />
Polde and hath soe donne for theise fifteene yeares last or thereabouts<br />
and knoweth him to be a native of hamborowe, of dutch parents, and<br />
to have lived there for all the said time, and (as this deponent beleeveth the<br />
said Mr Poldes mother a dutch woman there dwelling.
