Biographical synthesis
Richard North (b. ca. 1634; d.?). Mariner. Servant and apprentice of Captain Edmond Ellison, master of the Pearcy.
Resident in parish of Saint Michael Bassishaw in 1650.
A Richard North, gunner's mate on the ffrederick is mentioned in a deposition in the High Court of Admiralty on February 24th 1659. However, no further details are provided and it is unlikely that he is the same man as the servant and apprentice of Captain Ellison in 1650.[1]
Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Sixteen year old Richard North deposed on May 6th 1650 in the High Court of Admiralty. He was deposed on interrogatories on behalf of Captain Ellison.[2]
