//fifty three for five moneths at one hundred forty pounds a moneth and the said John Jefferson in that tyme by himselfe and others for him had and received severall summes of money upon the said shipps accompt and one or more booke or bookes of accompt was or//

- ↑ Robert Dawes and Jonathan Dawes were probably trading partners. Both were involved in the Levant trade. Robert Dawes will, written and proved in 1661, mentions his honoured friend Sir George Smith and "his lady", and leaves the residue of his estate to his brother Jonathan Dawes, who was at the time (July 25th, 1661) resident in Constantinople. Robert Dawes was an investor in the Smirna Venture Joint Stock (C10/109/102, 1663). His brother, Jonathan, was a part owner of the Loyal Merchant, together with Sir George Smith, Sir George Oxenden, and others
