MRP: Alphabet of names
Alphabet of letter writers names
Editorial history
17/08/11, CSG: Created page
Overview
This alphabet lists the names of all letter writers, whose letters have been copied into Sir George Oxenden's letter books, 1663-1669, by his clerks. The manuscript letter books are held at the British Library.[1]
The letter books are lightly indexed in the BL online catalogue. They have neither previously been calendarised, nor have they been available in transcribed form. The transcriptions are made available free of copyright restrictions by the founder of this wiki to stimulate scholarly research.
A separate Bigger alphabet of names lists all names contained in the content of the letters in the above letter books
