Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Thirty year old Jeffery Campion deposed on October 21st 1656 in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on a libel on behalf of Armiger Warner in the case of "Armiger Warner against a shipp called the Alexander (William Watson Master) her tackle and furniture and against Alexander coming in for his interest and against the sayd Watson"[1]
Jeffery Campion attested that he had been a witness to the signing by William Watson of a charter party between Armiger Warner and William Watson and had placed his own signature on the back of the document.[2]
