Munday the 23th day of June
1656 Before the worshipfull Charles
George Cocke Esquire one of the Judges
et cetera in his chamber et cetera in the presence of
Sam: Howe Notary publicke Appeared the
said Coleman to whom the Judge at his owne
proper costs and charges administred an oath to make
a true answeare to the allegation given against him in this cause
and then the said Coleman gave his answeare in
writinge which hee acknowledged to be true./.

Common hall et cetera in the presence
of Sam Howe Notary publicke
Appeared the said Cheeke
for James C[?ade] William Billing
ffrancis Bond and Company and made
himselfe partie for them and alleadged that
the said vessell the Endeavour did at the time of
the arrest thereof in this behalfe made and still doe
belonge unto them and that shee is laden at the Isle
of Wight with goods to a very great value and bound
to this Porte of London and that by reason of the said
arrest the said vessell is hindred from proceeding upon
her voyage to the great losse and dammage of the
owners of the said vessell and ladinge Whereafore for
the prevention of any further dammage by reason of
the said arrest and to the end the said shippe may
proceed upon her intended voayge to that porte of
London the said Cheeke offered sufficient security to
bringe the said vessell from the Isle of Wight to the
porte of London and to submitt her to the arrest of
the Court under which shee nowe is within a moneth or to
pay the value thereof accordinge to an appraisement
thereof to bee taken by authority of this Court in case
shee shall perish or miscarry in the meane time to the
said Browne or for such parte thereof as shall bee by
this Court adjudged to the said Browne Which Caution hhe
the said Cheeke prayed to bee receaved and a Comission to bee
decreed for the appraisement of the said Vessell and the
said appraisement being taken the said vessell to bee decreed to
bee released from the said arrest in the presence of the said
Smith appealing for the said William Browne and makinge
himselfe partie for him not opposing the same Whereupon
the Hudges did decree the said baile to bee receaved in
such manner as is desired and the said shippe to bee
appraised by Commissioners to bee named on both sides and the
said appraisement being taken the said shipp to bee
released from the said Arrest, Aftrerwards the same day
