Ad j:um [?Int] [?ut] [?peXXX] et rendet that hee is at present out of employment and was formerly
a Captaine in the Duke of Yorkes Army in fflanders, and was borne in the [?XXX]
monforta in the County of Clario in Ireland, and knoweth none of the parties
litigant saving Mr Carew whom hee hath knowne about seaven monethes last.

Ad 2 refert se ad predeporta Alr nescit.

Ad 3 rendet that if the said ship and lading bee condemned for prize hee Expecteth a [?profet]

Ad 4 rendet that hee neither directly or indirectly for his part embeazled or
made away any of the said Shipps lading or any of her tackle or furniture
nor gave his consent to others of the Company soe to doe Et [?neve] Saving hee
beleeveth that hee hath drunke about five gallons of the Godliffs wine.

Ad 5 rendet that the said Shipp Godliffe was taken on or about the third day of August last
and was first brought in to Studland bay about two dayes after seizure where
she staid about fowre or five days and was then carried into Sickles[?som]
River where she arrived about two days after and where she now is [?XXX]
Smith hee cannot be more positibe and perticular herein in regard his

Ad 6 rendet that upon the said seizure of the Godliffe her Master the arlate Sansier declared that
hee feared his goods would bee prize in regard that he knew not where to get
claimers as predeposuit et alr salvis dictis predepositis nescit.

Ad 7 rendet that the Interrate Sir Anthony de Masseys and Mr ffrost and Capatine Swanley
are setters forth of the said ffrigott as hee hath heard or some of them.
And the setters forth are as hee understandeth (the Kings and dukes dutyes first
taken out) to have two thirds, and as hee hath also heard a seaventh part
belongeth to Turner and Carew in case the shipp and lading prove prize

Ad 8 rendet that hee cometh only to testify the truth herein And
saith that if the shipp and lading be found a right prize hee
desireth the same may bee condemned, and not else. Et alr nescit.

Ad 10um rendet that hee hath bin lately Eaxamined on the behalfe of the seizors of the fortune
of Dantzicke and hee cometh at the request of Sir Anthony Massey and Mr ffrost
his foresaid owners to testify the truth Et alr nescit.

Ad 11 rendet that hee has noe relation or dependance upon any of the producents
Et alr [?deponere].

Ad 12 rendet that hee lodgeth at Mr Bullers at the Swan and Coach horse in
Strand, and hath dwelled almost ever since the late King was restored. And
