buy him a shipp of the burthen of 200 lasts or thereabouts, and of
about the price of nine or 10000 gilders, and signified to them
his designe of imploying her for Rochell to lade salt, for that
hee had dound that to be a good trade, and shortly after the first letter
hee wrote againe to the same effect, and to further the said purchase
and ordered them to draw the payment upon him, declaring withall
that hee would provide Master and mariners about [?home] to send
over to fetch her from Amsterdam and saile her for his accompt,
which hee knoweth because hee read and copied all the said letters, of
which hee saith the extracts A. B. C. are true extracts out of the said
Copie booke, which hee knoweth because hee helped Cornelius
Pick the Notary to examined and compare them with the said bookes
the said letters dated as is arlate, and the contents thereof [?XXX]. alr nescit.
Ad 2 arlum deponit that the said producent alsoe wrote to his
said factors to the effect arlate about the said buyingm and that
hee had bonoured their draught of the moneys upon him, whereof
hee would make payment, reddens raconem ut [?supra], and
saith that the 4th and 5th extracts marked D. E. are true extracts
of the said letters out of the said bookes, and which hee this deponent
alsoe helped the Notary to compare, and that the contents are true.
Ad 3 arlum et sched deponit that the said factors having upon such
order bought the said shipp they by their letters arlate signified the same
to the said producent, namely that they had bought her for his account
and that shee had cost 12500 gilders, and that they would draw
the payment thereof upon him with the chardge, and that they had
already drawne part thereof upon him, and of the said purpose
and charges they sent him the accompt amounting to 13869 gilders
and six stivers, for which they made him debtor, which hee knoweth
having seene the said letters and well knowing the=ir hand, and
saith the schedules No. 2. 3. in Libro B are the said originall letters and
the 8th schedule No. 7 in Libro B was and is the said accompt, and
for the reasons aforesaid hee is (as hee saith) assured of the truth of
the contents thereof. Et alr nescit.
Ad 4 arlum deponit that the said Bonnart and da Pann for payment
for and fitting the said shipp draw severall bills of exchangeupon the
said producent, namely the nine bills of exchange arlate and
showd unto himm, which the said producent hath accepted and paid
(saving one that is not payable till the end of this moneth) [?reddens]
[?rationem] ut supra. Et alr nescit.
Ad 5 arlum deponit that the said Mr Speckhouwer received the
attestation arlate of the oathes of the said Bonnart and da Pann
from Amsterdam in a packet of this deponents knowledge, And
this examinate declareth that the seale to the other attestation namely
that of the said Speckhouwer, is of his knowledge the Towne seale
of Antwerp, and for the reasons aforesaid hee is and as hee saith
assurd of the truth of the contents of the said attestations, unto which
as touching their contents hee referreth himself [?XXXX] nescit.
