Examined upon the foresaid allegation.

Richard Atkinson of the parish of Saint Michael
Crooked Lane London citizen and Imbroiderer of
London aged 30 yeares or thereabouts sworne and
examined.

To the second allegation hee saith and deposeth that ordinarily Virginia hogsheads
of tobaccoe in the monethes of May, June, July and August 165[?8]
and thereabouts were noe bigger nor larger nor of greater size or
capacitie than they ordinarily were for tenn yeares or thereabouts before that
said time, which hee knoweth for that hee is and then was
a tobacconist namely a dealer and worker in making up and cuttng
tobaccoes, and hath used that imployment for theise fifteene yeares
last or thereabouts, and bu that meanes hee hath had occasion for goeing
to sea and take notice of Virginia tobaccoe hogsheads, and saith for that [?XXX]
hee sawe severall of the hhogsheads wherein tobaccoes [?were]
the voyage in question brought home in the shipp the Alexander
allegate, and therby knoweth that they were as small and little
[?XX]
