the reasons aforesaid, and hee verily be;eeveth the contents thereof
to be true and to be soe had and donne as therein is cntained, And
otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 21th article and the fourth schedule annexed beginning and
ending as is arlate nowe showne unto him hee saith and deposeth that
hee beleeveth the contents of the said schedule to be truem and
saith that the same was received by the said Alderman ffrederick
and company from the said Norleigh and company, which hee knoweth
for the reasons aforesaid, and saith that the moset part of the
money mentioned in the said schedule is alreadie paid by Alderman
ffrederick and company, and that the chardges of the goods still
remayning behinde at Ligorne and Porto fferari, will as hee
beleeveth amount to about 100 li sterling more, which hee deposeth
keeping the producents accompts as aforesaid touching the
businesse of the said shipp and lading for the voyage in question,
And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 22th article and the two letters arlate and annexed and the
foresaid schedules two schedules, hee saith that the said accompts
and letters were and are the same that were received from George
Norleigh and company, and hee beleeveth the said letters to be of
the writing of the said Norleigh, with whose hand writing this
deponent is very well acquainted, and beleeveth the contents
both of the said letters and accompts to be true, and the things therein
mentioned to be had and donne as therein is contained, and the
moneys and chardges to be laid out and expended according to the
said accompts, And saith that bills have bin drawne and paid
for the most part of the said money. And otherwise hee cannot
depose.
To the 27th hee saith that hee beleeveth that George hughes
had noe order from the freighters or any of them to keepe company
with a Comvoy, which hee deposeth, having seene the orders
that were written from the freighters to the said George hughes, And
otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 28th and 6th schedule therein mentioned nowe showne
unto him, hee saith and deposeth that hee beleeveth the said
letter was written by the said George hughes or by his direction
and that the same was received here in London by this deponent
the Accomptant aforesaid on the 11th of October 1652
which day hee noted on the back thereof upon receipt of the same
And otherwise cannot depose, saving the said letter was
written to the said Alderman ffrederick and company, and receaved
by this deponent to their use.
To the 33th article hee saith and deposeth that hee beleeveth
that the said George hughes with the Thomas Bonadventure
might have come from Porto Longone for England in November
or december 1652, because hee this deponent hath seene a
letter dated in december 1652 in Ligorne intimating that the
