seeing her keale laid upon the stocks, and sawe the said building proceede
untill shee was even finished and readie to launch at which time this deponent
departed thence on a voyage for Spaine, in or about the moneth of June 1647
and saith shee was soe built on a place called the Tarr-host, and the said
Cloppenburgh (who was to goe master of her) managed and oversighted
the worke all alonge of this deponents sight and knowledge, And saith that
ever since her said building shee hath bin commonly accompted and
knowne to be of and to belonge to the port of hamborough, where her
owners have dwelt and doe dwell, and not to any other port whatsoever
And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the second article hee saith hee cannot depose thereto

To the third hee saith that in the summer time of the yeare 1652 hee
this deponent was at Cadiz in the White Swann wherof hee was then
master, and sawe the said shipp the Salvador then riding there under
the commannd of the said Christian Cloppenburgh, and well knoweth
that there shee was commonly said and esteemed and taken to be a
hamborough shipp and to be belonging to hamborough and to noe
other port and to have her owners there dwelling. And otherwise
hee cannot depose.

to the fourth hee saith that hee well knoweth Daniell Brandes
Jeronimus Switger, John Baptista Yoncker, Vincent Clingeburgh
Jerom Peterson, Derrick [?Rourke] Gerrit Boremaster and Henry Hambrooke to be all
Hamburgers and merchants of hamborough of very great fashion, and to be commonly
accompted and reputed owners of the said shipp,
And saith the forenamed owners are persons of soe good qualitie
that hee beleeveth they would not suffer any meane or slight person
to be a part owner of any shipp with them. And otherwise hee
cannot depose, saving the said Christian Cloppenburgh is alsoe a part owner
of the said shipp.

To the fifth article hee saith that hee cannot depose thereto

To the sixth article hee saith that in the said summer time 1652
the shipp the Mercury of hamborugh (hance yonge master) came
from Genoa and arived in the Roade of Cadiz, in which roade this
deponent sawe her ride at anchor after such her arivall, and
then the said shipp the Salvador was then there riding, and as this
deponent was informed there, the said shipp Salvador had bin there
two monethes or thereabouts before the comming thither of the
Mercury departed from Cadiz for Dunquirke in company of John de Vos
master of the John Evangelist and the Salvador was then remayning
at Cadiz and was there a moneth or thereabouts after such departure of
the Mercurius of this deponents sight and knowledge.

To the nineth hee cannot depose.

To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith hee was borne and hath alwaies dwelt in
hamborough, and otherwise negatively.

To the second hee saith hee is a mariner by profession, and that hee
was
