To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith hee this deponent is a native of Rotterdam
and hath lived in London about seaventeene yeares, and otherwise negatively
saying hee was not in the voyage nor knoweth ought thereof.

To the second hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition and cannot otherwise
depose.

To the third fourth and 5th hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid, not
being in the voyage nor knowing ought thereof.

To the 6th hee saith hee verily beleeveth the bale of tapestry
No. 1. marked I.B. claimed by the said Charles Barbou of Amsterdam
to be really and truely belonging to him, and to none other person whatsoever
having seene the bill of lading for the same signed by the master and
having received advice from him touching such his proprietie. And
otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the 7th hee cannot depose.

To the 8th hee saith hee doth not knowe the arlate Abraham [?<aysert]
and cannot otherwise depose.

Examined upon the said allegation.

Cornelius Martenson of derschelling in North Holland Mariner
Master of the said shipp the Liesde, aged 33 yeares or
thereabouts sworne and examined.

To the first and second articles of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth
that after the seizing and bringing of the said shipp the Liesde with her lading
into Plimouth, this deponent by letters into holland to Amsterdam hath
advised his owners there dwelling thereof, and by his said letters
desiring to be advertised from them whether all such as had laden goods
aboard him were subiects of the States General of the United
Netherlands, they have answered and advised him that all such
merchants as had goods aboard the said shipp were subiects
of the said States, saving one that was an Irishman, and that
all the goods aboard this deponents said shipp were free goods saving
two packs, but this deponent cannot say that there are two packs
of unfree goods aboard the said shipp. And otherwise hee cannot
depose, saying hee doth not knowe any of the producents, and saving
hee referreth himselfe to his bills of lading.

To the third and fourth hee referreth himselfe to his said bills of
lading taken aboard the said shipp. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the fifth hee saith that before the said shipp the Liesde tooke in her
lading nowe in question, Marcus Janson May, Hake van da velde
and company, owners of the said shipp, (who hee saith are all dwelling
at Amsterdam saving this deponent who liveth at derschelling)
