Transcription

that citie and a subiect of the Lord the States of the United Netherlands, and
(about six yeares last hee hath bin maried there to a dutch woman as this deponent taketh her to be and for
seaven or eight yeares last hee hath kept a house and familie in the
said citie if Amsterdam in a place there called the [?Cingle] where hee
still dwelleth, all which hee knoweth frequenting that citie and the
conversation of the said producent, at whose house hee hath very often
bin in the space aforesaid. And for a dweller in Amsterdam for about
11 yeares last and a subiect of the Lords the States of the United Netherlands
hee the said William [?Boline] de la Gard hath bin and is commonly accompted
and reputed. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith that about fourteene dayes since hee sawe the said
shipp the Saint Jacob at dover, which was since her said seizure.

To the second hee saith the said William Boline de la Gard is a ffrenchman
borne at Saint Malo's, but this deponent never sawe him in ffrance.

To the third hee saith the said William is of the age of 38 or 39 yeares
or thereabouts, and is black haired, And otherwise hee cannot answer saving
as aforesaid.

To the fourth hee saith the said the said producent tradeth into ffrance as a
merchant, and otherwise hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid.

To the fifth hee saith that the first voyage made by the said shipp
since the said Bolines becomming owner of her as aforesaid was
from Amsterdam to Cadiz and thence to haver de Grace, and thence
upon her second voyage to the Madera's and thence shee was going back againe for haver
de Grace, when shee was seized by the said [?Swine]./

To the last hee cannot answer.

Examined upon an allegation given in
on the behalfe of the said claimers.

John Boulin of Saint Malo's in ffrance Merchant, aged
35 yeares or thereabouts sworne and examined.

To the first article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that
in or about the moneth of May last past the producents Eelman
Severinson the master of the said shipp the Maedea, and severall of his
company being hollanders and subiects of the Lords the States of the United
Netherlands, did lade aboard her then lying in the port of Marseilles
bound for haver de Grace severall chests of sope, a pack leather
and a butt of oile, and comming
thence the said Severinson at sea meeting with a shipp bound from Majorca for Amsterdam
bought of the master of the said shipp and laded aboard
her
