were and are reall and true, and soe had and done as therein is contained
and that the Said three Cerons of Cuchineale were to be transported in
the Said shipp and delivered at Ostend according to the contents Of the Said bill
of lading which this deponent subscribed with his owne hand to the effect
predeposed, and Saith hee this deponent signed no other bill or bills of lading
for the Said three Cerons of Cuchineale, which together with the said
shipp Salvador in her Course from Cadiz towards Ostend were
mett with all surprised and taken by some shipps in the Service of this
Commonwealth. The premises hee knoweth and declareth to bee reall
and true for that hee this deponent was master of the Said shipp, and
received the Said goods into the Same, and upon such his receipt thereof
signed the bill of lading aforesaid, And further cannot depose

To the first hee Saith, That hee this rendent was Master of the shipp the
Salvador at the time of her ?Servire? by the shipps of this Commonwealth
and hath been Master of her ever Since hee was originally built
at Hamburgh, of which place hee was and is a native and inhabitant
And otherwise negatively
To the second hee Saith hee knoweth nothing of the buying of or paying
for the Cuchineale in question
To the third hee Saith, hee hath knowne the interrate ferdinando Nunez
for about 7 or 8 yeares last past, who hee Saith was not at Cadiz
at the time of the lading of the Cuchineale in Controversie, (so farr as
this deponent knoweth) but Saith the Said Nunez transmitted the Said Corens
of Cuchinweale from Sevill by a Barque from whom this rendent
received the Same, and accordingly signed and firmed? the three bills
of lading predeposed to the effect therein expressed And further
referring himselfe to the Said bill of lading hee Saith hee cannot
answer, otherwise then that this rendent never Saw the Said Cerens
of Cuchineale before they were laden as aforesaid
To the fourth hee answereth and Saith he doeth not know, neither
doeth hee in conscience beleeve otherwise then that the Said three
Cerons of Cuchineale doe really and truely belong unto the Said
Jaspar Lorenzo, for whose accompt this rendent received the Same
and accordingly firmed the bills of lading predeposed, and knoweth
not nor beleeveth that the Said goods or any part thereof did or doeth
belong to any subject or subjects of the King of ffrance
