The 15th of december 1654. [CENTRE HEADING]
Rp. 3.
John Siverson of the Westand neere Euchusen in holland mariner,
Stiersman of the said shipp, aged 45 yeares or thereabouts sworne and
examined.
To the first Interrogatorie hee saith that the said shipp the Patience belongeth to the
port of Euchusen, and that hee knoweth not the owners of her, and saith hee
was Stiersman of her when shee was seized. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the second Interrogatorie hee saith hee is a hollander borne, and soe are all
the shipps company, (saving the pilot) and subiects of the States of the United
Netherlands, and that hee hath gonne two voyages in the said shipp, namely
one about half a yeare since to dantzike, and nowe this to Bourdeaux, And
otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the third hee saith that the said ship Patience at the time of her seizure
was comming from Bourdeaux bound for Saint Malo's there to ddischardge her lading
of ffrench wines which shee tooke in at Bourdeaux, and that the same was laden
by ffrenchmen one whereof was named Mr Sayes; and that the Skipper and
company (all hollanders) have a hogshead of brandewine and three hogsheads
of wine aboard for their proper accompt, And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the fourth hee saith hee was once before at Bourdeaux namely about
nine yeares since, and saith hee never knew the said monsieur Sayes before
this voyage, and doth not knowe any of the rest of the laders, And
otherwise saving as aforesaid hee cannot depose.
To the fifth hee cannot depose.
To the last hee saith that the said shipp the Patience was taken by
Captaine Wills and company about 7 or 8 leagues off Roscow on the
ffrench coast on the open sea, And otherwise hhee cannot depose.

John Peterson Halt of Euchusen in holland mariner
Boatswaine of the said shipp the Patience, aged 35 yeares
or thereabouts sworne and examined.
To the said Interrogatories hee saith and deposeth that hee hath bib
boatswaine of the said shipp the Patience about 20 weekes last, and
made one voyage with her to dantzike and nowe this to Bourdeaux whether
shee went in ballast from holland. And that her nowe lading is ffrench
wines, laden at Bourdeaux by ffrenchmen to be carried to and delivered
at Saint Malo's. And that he Skipper and dutch company (all hollanders)
have a hogshead of brandewine and three hogsheads of wine aboard for
their proper accompt. Ans saith the said shipp belongeth to the
port of Euchusen, and that in her course from Bourdeaux for
Saint Malo's shee was met with and seized at sea about 8 leagues
off Roscow by Captaine Wills and company. And otherwise hee
cannot as hee saith depose./
