To the nineth Interrogatory he answereth that he was present
at and did sea (sic) all the Barrells of Raysons [?XXXis]
when they were taken out of the said shipp with the
Lighter interrate, but that he remembreth not the marke
wherewith they were marked And to the rest of this
Interrogatory he knoweth not to answeare./

Richard Stevens of Wapping in Middlesex
Mariner, where he hath lived about three
yeares past, a wittnes produced, sworne and
examined he deposeth and saith as followeth.
To the first, second and third articles of the Libell
given in and admitted in this cause and to the schedules
therein mentioned he deposeth and saith That he the
deponent did goe Master of the shipp the George of
London in the voyage arlate, and that then the producents
were Owners of the respective goods arlate, which were
taken in at or neere Malaga, And he saith that he
being Master of the said shipp did signe the bills
of Lading libellate, The which and all the contents
are subscribed with his propper handwriting And
further he cannot depose
To the fourth, fifth, sixth, seaventh, and eighth articles
of the said libell he deposeth, and saith that the
shipp the George arlate safely arrived in this River
of Thames in ffebruary last past, and that as well then
as at the delivereing out of the Raysins [?Soles] arlate
the sayd goods were dry and wellconditioned, and that
the sayd goods being well=conditioned and merchantable, they
were laden or putt aboard a Lighter to be transported
to ffreshwharfe the name of which Lighter he knoweth not, And
further he knoweth not.
To the ninth and tenth articles he cannot depose
To the eleaventh article he deposeth and saith That the damage
which happened unto the goods arlate came by reason of
the Lighters defect of this deponents knowledge for
that the said goods were at their delivery out of the
said shipp the George into the said Lighter, very dry and
well conditioned And further he cannot depose.
To the 12th 13th and 14th articles he referreth himselfe
to the Law and Registry of this Court Abd further
he cannot depose
To the last he saith his fore[?said] deposition is true
