And further cannot depose:-/

To the rest hee deposeth not by direction of the producent/

To the Crosse Interrogatories:-/ [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith he hath noe share or interest in the Tobaccoes now
Claimed, nor expecteth any benefitt by the recovery, or feareth any dammage
by the confiscation thereof, and saith hee cometh to declare the trueth of
his deposition in this Cause at the instance of the said producent And otherwise negatively

To the second hee saith, hee knoweth nothing of the payment of any
moneys for the Tobaccoes in Controversie, nor by whom any such payment
was made nor to whom, And further cannot depose:-/

To the third hee saith hee knoweth nothing as to the damannds of this Interrogatorie

To the fowerth Interrogatorie and Examinations interrate being a Copie of the
Examinations Originall translated into ffrench, hee saith, That hee this
rendent and his shipps Companie were brought up to Guernezey as aforesaid
where this rendent was examined, and
saith that hee this rendent did there upon his words and not otherwise
declare the contents of his Charterpartie to bee true, but saith That in such
his deposition or declaration there was no mention sett downe in writing
of or concerning the said Tobaccoes, though this rendent at the time of such
his examination did declare concerning the same, And saith his this rendents
declaration was and is true, saving that the said Tobaccoe was not therein
expressed, and saith his said deposition was made voluntarily but not fully
sett downe according to his intention. And further cannot answer-/:-

To the 5th hee saith hee did not understand nor reade over the bill of
ladeing interrate at such time as hee firmed it, not being versed in the
English tongue, And otherwise referring himselfe to his foregoeing deposition
hee cannot further depose:-

said Claus Gerbrandson and
Companie:-/

Joris Peterson of horne in holland Mariner
aged 26. yeares or thereabouts a Wittnes sworne
before the Right Worshippfull John Godolphin doctor of
Lawes one of the Judges of the high Court of
Admiraltie, saith and declareth as followeth videlicet

To the first Interrogatorie hee saith That hee well knoweth the shipp
the Browne fish interrate, whereof Jacob hanson was Master
and hath soe knowne her for about 14. moneths last past, shee
then and now belonging to the Port of hoorne in holland, and to
Claus Gerbrandson, John heck and others Burghers of hoorne
