weight of currants there alsoe after the said shipps arrivall, and
when the said shipp came thence, there were severall parcells and
quantities of currants remayning behinde in the countrey of this
deponents knowledge. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the said Interrogatorie hee saith hee hath not any interest in the
cvurrants in controversie nor is concerned therein, and saith they were
received at Petras, but whence they came thither or whether any
of them were Lepanto currants or not hee saith hee knoweth not,
And otherwise hee cannot depose.

Bartram against the William and George}
alias the Royall defence. and against Bennet.}

Examined upon an allegation on the
behalfe of the said Bartram.

,jus.

John Cremer of the parish of Saint Magnus London
ffishmonger, aged 26 yeares or thereabouts sworne
and examined.

To the first and second articles of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that
hee well knoweth the shipp arlate the William and George, nowe called the Royall
defence, and hath soe donne for theise tenn yeares last and upwards
during all which space the arlate John ffoyer and company have bin and
are her owners and proprietors, and for such commonly accompted.
which hee knoweth having as servant of the producent in that time
delivered severall goods to her use, and received moneys of the said ffoyer
and company (as owners of the said shipp) for the same. And saith
that in the yeares 1644. 1645 and 1646 and when the goods schedulated
were delivered to her use the arlate Thomas Babb was master
and commannder of her, and had the government of her, and
came and bespake the said goods at Mr Bertrams for her use and
provisions, of this deponents like knowledge being then servant to the said
Bartram.

To the third fourth and 5th articles and schedule annexed hee saith and deposeth that within the
said yeares 1644. 1645 and 1646 the said shipp being outwards
bound upon voyages in merchant imployment, and standing in neede
of provisions of victuall therefore, the said James Bartram
at the instance and speaking to of the said Babb did furnish
and by this deponent his servant deliver to the use and for provision
of the said shipp all and singular the fish schedulated, on the dayes
and at the rates schedulated, which rates and prices they were
then well worth and the same was the true market price of the
like commodities, and this deponent went with and sawe them
delivered aboard the said shipp to her use for victuall. And
saith the said Babb hath since severall times acknowledged
the receipt of the said goods and provisions aboard the said shipp
and to her use.
