before the John and Elizabeth came to Saint Lucar fall fowle each of other
thereupon the sayd John and Elizabeths Company all of them (except this rendent
and the sayd boy and the sayd Keene) did forsake her and went aboard the sayd
fflutes shipp and came noe more aboard the John and Elizabeth by which meanes
the sayd John and Elizabeth and ladeing was as is predeposed in great danger of
perishing, And further hee cannot answere

To the 10th hee saith that hee hath heard and beleeveth that some of the men whome
the sayd Keene hyred at Saint Lucar to come home in the shipp John and Elizabeth
for London, had left their shipp they belonged to before And further to this
Interrogatorie hee cannot answere./

To the 11th hee saith hee knoweth the Interrogate ffrancis Beddingfeild George
Bland William Bland Peter Probye and Edward Watts and saith
they the sayd George and William Bland Peter Proby and Edward Watts are
Merchants in Saint Lucar and comonly accompted men of good repute there, and that as touching the sayd
Bedingfeild hee cannot commend his honesty and iust dealing having
heard generally a very badd reporte of his dealings in Saint
Lucar And as to the schedule Interrogate the same being read unto him
and also by this deponent at the tyme of his examination hee saith hee knoweth
that some parte of the same is truth as that the sayd shipp did arrive at Saint Lucar
with her masts spent and parte of her rigging lost as is by this rendent predeposed and
with her midshipp broken and none on board her but the sayd Keene and this
deponent and boy, and was towed in by two ffishermen after shee had endured a
violent storme for about [2?0] dayes and saith hee beleeveth that Keene and the shipp
John and Elizabeth in this cause named and the shipp or Catch John and
Elizabeth and Keene in the sayd schedule named are one and the same shipp and person
and not diver, and as to the subscriptions of the sayd schedule hee cannot
answere not being acquainted with the hand writings of any of the persons
whose names are subscribed thereto, and as to the truth of the contents thereof
further then what hee hath predeposed to the allegation and is conteyned in his
answere to the Interrogatories in this cause ministred hee cannot answere/

Concerning the shipp the Orange Tree of Euchuysen (whereof}
Reyer Cornelisson was Master) and the ladeing in the same lately}
surprized and taken at sea by the Tyger friggatt one of the shipps}
in the immediate service of this Commonwealth}

aged 32. yeares or thereabouts worne
in the high Court of Admiraltie before the
Judges of the said Court, and examined, saith and
declareth as followeth videlicet:/

hee this deponent saith and declareth, that the said shipp commonly called and
well knowne by the name of the Orange Tree of Euchuyson in holland
was and is a Vessell or shipp which was of this deponents knowledge originally buolt
at Euchuysen in holland in the yeare 1647. or thereabouts, and saith that
the said shipp was then and there soe first originally built by the order
and direction of John van Solder Merchant of Amsterdam
