as a hollanders factor and for the rest of the time interrate hath lived
with his father at Amsterdam, and saith the said Rodenburgh hath no
share nor interest in the shipp or goods in Controversie/

To the 7th hee referreth himselfe to his precedent deposition:/

To the 8th hee saith, That this deponent and all his said shipps Companie
were and are hollanders and natives of Edam or thereabouts, where they
have had their settled residence and relation for all the time interrate./

To the 9th hee saith hee doeth not know nor beleeve that the interrate Claus Jansen
hoone nor any other of the said shipps Owners have alienated or transported
any part or share of the shipp in Controversie, and saith by Vertue of his
oath, That the said shipp waas sett out from Edam upon the Voiage in
Controversy att and upon the joynt expenses of the said Owners:-/

To the 10th hee saith hee is a Mariner by profession and hath used seafaring
and Merchandizing from his youth, and by such his long experience in the
worth and valews of such goods as are by him predeposed, hee doeth in
conscience estimate them to be of the respective Valewes predeposed./.

To the 11th hee saith this rendent and mariners of the said shipp had sewerall
Clothes and necessaries fitt for men of their profession, but for the particulars
thereof, or their severall sorts or Colours this rendent remembreth not./

Examined upon the said Allegation:-/

Claus Jacobson of the dorpe or Village of hoogh Breeda
neere Edam in holland Ship wright aged 23. yeares
or thereabouts a Wittnes sworne and examined saith as
followeth videlicet:/

To the first article of the said Allegation hee saith hee saith and deposeth, That hee this examinate hath
well knowne the shipp the Scaep or Mutton now in Controversy, for about six
yeares last past, during all which time shee hath belonged to the Port of Edam in
holland having her Owners videlicet the arlate Claus Johnson hoone, Peter Corneley
Oates, Alert Jansen a Master ship wright, this deponents precontest and others of
Edam aforesaid, and some Burghers of horne in holland, who were and
are in these parts well knowne and generally reputed the true and lawfull Owners
and Proprietors of the said shipp and of her tackle apparell and furniture
The premisses hee knoweth having sayled in the said shipp three sewerall Voiages
under the Command of the now Master thereof Jacop Jansen Scaep his precontest,
and being a person who for many yeares hath used to saile from Edam, and thereby
hath the knowledge of this and other shipps to that place belonging:- And
further cannot depose./

To the second hee saith, That in or about the moneth of december last past the
said shipp the Scaep was sett out from Edam by the said Claus Johnson hooner
and Companie, the said Claus Johnson hoone being a great trader in Salt
and keeping a saltpann or saltpanns for the refining thereof to proceed
from thence to Rochell france and there to take a lading of salt to be
transported in the said shipp from thence to Edam, and there to be delivered
as the said koone and Companie, and that one Isbrand Rodenburgh a
