Henry Spurstowe of London Merchant, aged
40 yeares or thereabouts, sworne and examined.

To the first second and third articles of the said allegation, and
the schedule annexed now showed unto him hee saith and deposeth
that hee this deponent and daniel Andrewess of London merchants
subiects of this Commonwealth did in and by a Pollicie of assurance
dated the 27th of November 1651 being the schedule annexed
(which hee saith was and is the truth and subscribed by them)
assure unto Giles Vandeput of London merchant the summe of
one hundred pounds sterling namely 50 li a peece, upon any manner of
adventure in the lading of the shipp the love (Maynard Cornelison master)
from Marsailles to haver da Grace and thence to Amsterdam,
according to the said Pollicie annexed, And saith the said assurance
was made at and after the rate of seaven pounds per cent: which
Praemium the said Mr Vandeput hath satisfied. And otherwise hee
cannot depose.

To the fourth hee saith that it was and is a usuall thinge
practised amongest merchants to assure goods at one citie or
place (and for their indempnitie) to reassure at another place
where the assurance was lower. And otherwise hee cannot
depose.

To the Interrogatories.

To the first and second Interrogatories hee saith hee never sawe
mentioned in the first article to be made at Antwerp, and
for the contents of the pollicie made at London hee referreth himselfe to the
same being annexed to [?the] allegation, and to his foregoeing deposition
and otherwise cannot answer.

To the last negatively for his part and otherwise hee
cannot answeer.

Examined upon the foresaid libell.

Thomas Sheare of the parish of Saint Margarets
Lothbury London citizen and Clothworker of London, aged
50 yeares or thereabouts sworne and examined.

To the first third and fourth articles of the said libell (upon which alone
hee is examined by direction of the producent) hee saith and deposeth
that in the moneth of October 1651 hee this deponent being a Packer did
at his house in Lothbury London pack twenty peeces of Perpetuanas's
for the producent david Otgar (as lawfull owner and Proprietor thereof)
into one pack, which this deponent by direction of the said david Otgar
marked and numbred as in the margent. And that on or about the 29th

of the said moneth the said pack was fetched away
from this deponent s said packing house for the use and accompt of
the said david Otgar for whom this deponent (as aforesaid) packed
the same. And saith the said Perpetuana's were the time aforesaid
