and further cannot depose./

To the 7. and 8th hee saith hee hath not deposed to the article interrate

To the 9th hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof

To the 10th hee saith, That part of the English Channell where the
Sampson Salvadore and Saint George were seized, is as hee beleeveth altogether
as commodious and direct in the Course for Amsterdam for shipps designed
thither, as it is for Ostend or dunquirke./

To the 11. hee saith hee belonged to the shipp Salvadore arlate as a common saylor
at the time of the seizure of the shipps interrate./

To the 12. hee saith hee was at Cadiz in the moneths of June and July
interrate (as farr as gee remembreth the moneths) in the yeare 1653. but
never was at dunquirke, and saith so farr as hee remembreth it was
in the moneth of June in that yeare, that this deponent last saw the said
shipp the golden Sunn at Cadis, at the time of her departure thence
as aforesaid./

Examined upon the said Allegation

Christian Cloppenburgh of hamborough Mariner
aged 43. yeares or thereabouts a Wittnes sworne and
examined saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet:/

To the first second and third articles of the said Allegation hee saith and deposeth
That about 10. yeares since and for severall yeares before, and some yeares
after that time, the forme fashion and modell of shipps built at Lubeck
and other places in the Eastland was very much different and disagreeing
from the fashion and composure used and practized in the United Netherlands
and so much hee saith was and is easily to be observed and discerned by
Merchants Mariners and shippwrights experienced in the composure of
shipps of those places, those of Lubeck and the Eastlands built about that
time being of a more strong rude and full timbred fabrick within, and
those of the United Netherlands lighter of timber and of a more [?XXX GUTTER]
and handsome fabrique, And saith That the shipp the Sampson allate
(whereof the allate Otto George was Commander) was and is of the
fabricke fashion mould and modell then usuall in the said Citie and
Port of Lubeck and other Ports and places in the East Countrey, And
saith the said shipp was originally built at Lubeck in the yeares 1645.
and 1646. last past, The premisses hee knoweth being a hambourgher and
a Mariner who hath used Navigation constantly from the Eastland to Spaine
and other parts for about 26. yeares last past, and thereby is well and [?sufficiently GUTTER]
