The same day Examined upon the sayd Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

Simon Claeson of Newenda[?w] in holland mariner
Gunner of the sayd shipp the Saint Jacob aged
twenty two yeares or thereabouts sworne and examined
saith.
To the sayd Interrogatories he saith hee knoweth well the sayd shipp the
Saint Jacob, and so have done five monethes and an halfe, for all
which tyme he hath bene and att present is Gunner of the sayd
shipp, and came first on board her att Amsterdam, to which
Port she did and doth belong, but the Owners thereof
he knoweth not And he saith that the sayd shipp tooke in
her present lading att Brouage in ffrance, and that the sayd
lading is salt, and that the sayd shipp last came from Brouage
and was bound to haver de grace in ffrance there to make
delivery of her sayd lading of salt, which was, as he hath
credibly heard, for the use of the Grand party of ffrance.
And further touching the particulars demannded of the lader
value, freight, delivery and writings of and touching
the sayd salt or shipp he cannot depose, saving that
the sayd shipp hath ten gunnes, five hundred weight of
powder with match and bullet proportionable, eight musketts
eight pikes, eight halberds, three Cables, four Anchors
two foresayes a new topmast sayle, and a whole shute (sic)
of sayles and other furniture and provisions fitting for
such a voyage where in she was ymployed.

his highnes the Lord Protector.

Marsellys Johnson of Delfehaven
in holland mariner master of the sayd shipp
the Saint Peter aged one and fifty yeares or
thereabouts a witnes sworne and examined
saith and deposeth as followeth. videlicet.
To the 1. 2. 3. 4. and 5th Interrogatories. This deponent saith that the sayd
shipp the Peter doth belong to the Port of delph in holland and
so did att the tyme of seizure, and to her owners there dwelling
who were and are dirick vander Grasse, Dirick vander d[?affa]
and Peter van Sante all hollanders, and subjects of the States
of holland, and Burghers and Inhabitants of delph aforesayd
