To the 21 and 22th and 23th he saith that he knoweth the bill of lading interrate to be one
of thhe originall bills of lading signed att Cadiz as aforesaid by the marke
number contents and firme thereof and by the handwriting of this deponent
by whom the same was filled upp as now it is, and for that this Rendent brought
it from Cadiz to Hamburgh in the ffortune Barand Carfanger Master and from Hamburgh to this Citty in the Pacquett boat and saith
two other bills of the same tenor were signed by John Martins att Cadiz a shoare
in his lodging. And saith that two of the sayd originall bills were delivered
to this deponent, and one left with John Martins as aforesaid. And further he cannot
depose.

Examined upon the sayd Allegation.

Juan Stueten Paep of Nair in Lukeland
merchant aged three and thirtie yeares or
thereabouts a witnes sworne and examined deposeth
and saith as followeth videlicet.

To the first and second Articles of the sayd Allegation this deponent saith that
the arlate Cesar da Haze merchant of Antwerpe for theis four yeares last
past hath driven a trade from Antwerpe to Cadiz in Spaine for moneyes sylver
and other goods and for that purpose hath had his factors and Correspondents att
Cadiz during the sayd tyme. And further saith that this deponent being att
Cadiz about the beginning of October 1652 then and there saw his precontest
ffrancis du Bois who is a factor and Agent for the sayd Cesar da Haze lade
aboard the shipp the Saint George wereof the sayd John Martins is Captaine
then riding att anchor in the Bay of Cadiz the arlate two baggs of moneyes
marked as in the margent containing in each of them two hundred and fifty
peeces
