To the second he saith that the arlate ffrancis du Bois told this deponent in
Cadiz that he had bills of lading signed for all the sayd nineteene bags
except three as he hath predeposed. And otherwise he cannot depose.
To the third he saith that the sayd producent told this deponent as aforesayd that
for three of his baggs laden aboard one of the sayd shipps he had noe bills
of lading, and this deponent further saith the sayd producent about
two or three dayes after departure of the sayd shipps sent a letter of advise into fflanders to the sayd Jacques
Hoyse certifying him that there were three baggs for which he had noe
bill, and ordering him to receyve them att Ostend, which Letter this
deponent likewise Copyed in his Counting howse entring the same
into his sayd Booke of letters of advise. And saith that att the tyme the
sayd shipps Sampson and Salvador arlate departed from the bay of
Cadiz there was a great Levant or very strong gale of wind
so as noe man with safety might goe aboard, or some a shoare And
further he cannot depose

To the fifth he saith that he this deponent knoweth and is well acquainted
with Jacques Hoyse arlate and so hath bene for seven yeares or thereabouts
and saith he is a native of fflanders, and hath lived for the most part att
Ostend but lately removed to Duinkerk, and is a subiect of the King of
Spaine. And further saith that of the certaine knowledge of this deponent
for theis four yeares now past or thereabouts there hath bene and is
correspondency betweene the producent and the sayd de Hoyse , who hath
done and still doth busines for the producent by way of factorage, and
hath often receyved goods consigned to him from the sayd producent to
and for the proper use and Accompt of him the sayd producent. And
otherwise he cannot depose.
