Examined upon the sayd alleagtion

Michael van Lubkyn of Hamburg mariner
aged 30 yeares or thereabouts a witnes sworne
and examined deposeth and saith as followeth
videlicet
To the 1 and 2 particles of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that
the arlate Antony Labestraet Hans Gerts, ffrancis Sloyer
Daniel Brands, Jeronimo Snitger Adrian Younger
Joachim Van Campen Paradins sonn, Albert Anquelman Peter
and Arnold Rulands ffrancis Wallich and John Baptista
Younker are and every of them merchants of Hamburgh
and persons well knowne to this deponent and so have bene
for many yeares, and the least tyme that this deponent hath
knowne any of them hath bene 14 yeares. and saith that
for all or the most part of the sayd tyme the sayd
persons have bene and continue to be great traders for
Spaine and have their factors att Saint Lucar and Cadiz for
the better mannageing the sayd trade, that being their
maine and principall trade and thither this deponent hath observed
that the have yearely for the greatest part of the sayd
tyme sent goods of great value and have receyved
the returnes thereof some tymes in goods and sometimes
in sylver and moneyes, which was and is a usuall and
Ordinary returnes from those parts of Spaine. And more
particularly saith that he this deponent hath himselfe delivered
severall goods att Cadiz for accompt of the foresayd persons
which he hath receyved from them aboard his shipp att Hamburgh
And for merchants so trading and dealing betwixt Hamburgh
and Cadiz the sayd persons and every of them was and is att
Hamburgh and elswhere commonly accomted repputed and
taken. And otherwise cannot depose.
To the third article of the sayd allegation he saith that he hath crdibly
heard that the sayd persons did send severall quantities of peice
goods to their factors att Cadiz aboard the Crowne Imperiall Hans
Meynerson Master this last summer. and otherwise he cannot
depose.
To the fourth article of the sayd allegation this deponent saith that the foresayd
persons merchants of Hamburgh and every of them, and also
the arlate Claes Moller and Claes Colebrandt and eyther of them
were and are by generall and Common repute Hamberghers
borne, and the sayd persons and ebvery of them of the certaine
knowledge of this deponent who hath knowne all of them 14
yeares and some of them 20 yeares this deponent being a native and
Inhabiting in Hamburgh al his tyme were and have
bene for 14 yeares last past and upwards and now are Inhabitants
of
