- Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
- Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
- Save the page

Edward Peirce of Lymehouse in the County of
Middlesex Mariner aged about 36 yeares where
he hath lived about fourteene yeares last, a
wittnes produced and sworne, and being examined he
deposeth and saith as followeth

Hardridge to the Barbados and back againe but who were her Owners and Proprietors
he knoweth not Except one Mr Leigh of London Merchant now
deceased who was an Owner of her as hee this deponent hath heard
