Transcription

said seizure was made by the said Scotchman about sixe or seaven of the
Clocke in the morninge And saith that the said Abraham Stockman and
Companie as aforesaid were and are owners of the said [?boyer] and otherwise
negativelie saveinge as aforesaid

To the Twelveth he saith that he had his sea breefe aboard upon when the Scotch
man seized him and noe other papers, haveing throwne his letters (showing
that he was bound for [?London] over board, assoone as he perceived that he was
a Scottch man, who tooke his said sea breefe away from him, and
otherwise negativelie

To the last he saith that the said Boyer was built at Sordam in holland
by the said Abraham Stockman and Companie and saith that he this deponent
bought his part in the same about seaven yeares since of the widdow of John
Geerson of hamborowe/

behalfe of the said Hosipard and Companie.

John Jefferson of the parish of Saint Andrews
Holborne Esquire aged 59. yeares or thereabouts
sworne and examined deposeth.

To the 6th article of the said Allegation hee saith and deposeth
That hee this deponent doth very well knewe Monsieur Phillipe
alias Poyntsey. who hee saith for and during the tearme of theise
twelve yeares Last past hath bin and att this present is the
french Governour or Governor for and of the ffrench inhabitants in and
upon the Iland of Saint Christopher And saith that the said Governor
in and for all the said tyme hath bin and still is soe well affected
to the Englishe then and now Inhabiting in the said Iland and
hath and still doth s[?ee] many good offices and freindly courteseyes
unto them upon all occasions that for soe doeing he was and still is accompted
a person disaffected to the Crowne of ffrance and and Enemye to
that Nation which hee knoweth to bee true because hee this deponent
hath himselfe lived in and upon the said Iland within the tyme
predeposed. and hath now and then had an interest and some Estate
there and within theise few weekes last past hath receaved Advice
from thence of the continuance of his the said ffrench Governours
assistance of and good affection to the Englishe the subiects of
this Common Wealth dwelling in that Ilands And otherwise
hee saith hee cannot depose.

To the rest of the articles hee is not Examined by direction of the producent

To the Crosse Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

than as aforesaid hee cannot say or depose.
