Transcription

To the last 8th Interrogatorie hee saith That the said shippe
the Saint Martin was seized by eight of the Parliaments shipps
neere the Ile Corsico about 5 moneths since after which tyme
this Examinate together with the producent and six other
Armenians with 5 servants and some Maultesa Men
and Woomen (but noe french at all) were turned ashore
at and upon an Iland neere Trapany And otherwise hee
cannot depose saveing that the names of the said six
other Armenian Merchants were as followeth videlicet. three
Jacomos Hojar Petro Hojah Kamal and Hojar Marco
and three servants hee saith were two of them named
theireiopeid one Balthazar one Hatchatour and one
Gregario.

To the 9th hee answereth negatively to every part thereof
saying that hee never sawe any of the parties interrogated since hee
this Examinate and his Country men were soe turned out of the said
ship the Saint Martin.

To the last he saith that hee this Examinate together
with all the rest of the said six Armenian Merchants and the
producent have bin at Ligorne since theire being soe turned
a shore neere Trepany and that they got thither some of them in
a vessell of Trapany and others of them in a vessell
belonging to the Duke of Florence from thense they came to Marseillia and from Marseillia
they came over land through fraunce to Callice and soe to dover in
a barque, but the name thereof or to whom the saime belonged
hee saith hee knoweth not. And further hee saith hee
cannot depose.

County of Middlesex Mariner aged 28 yeares or
thereabouts sworne the day abovesaid before
the right Worshipfull John Exton Doctor of
lawes one of the Judges of the highe Court of the Admiraltye
touching the losse of the ship the Hopefull Mary saith and
deposeth

That hee this deponent was steward of and aborde
the said ship the Hopefull Mary in years 1643. and 1644, which
then was a man of warre in the ymediate service of the
Parliament
