Transcription

To the second hee saith that att such time as the said Indico was taken
away from this deponent and the rest of the ffactors of the said Lister and Company
from abord the shipp the Salvadore in that violent manner as is before [?expressed]
the said shipp was three miles distant from any castle or ffort belonging
to Legorno, and although there were some shipps in the [?Road] att that time
he saith they durst not make complaint thereof to them, for that in such a
case the Companies of the severall shipps would rather have proved Enemies
to them, than freinds. And he saith that they could expect no releif from
the Castle, because they were forced to fly to the shipp from the shore, in regard of
the Creditors of the said ffairefax and Lister and Company and otherwise he answereth
negatively, and cannot further depose./

To the third he saith that he heard the said Swanley and Terricke and others at
[XX XX] Companies say that the dollers so paid aforesaid were moneyes
which they received for their wages which they gott in the shipps Interrogated, And
otherwise referring himself to his foresaid deposition hee saith he cannot depose

To the 4th hee saith that att such time as the said ten barrells if Indico
were taken out of the said shipp this deponent waas [XXX] in his Cabin, and did not goe
out while the said Terricke Swanley and Company were aboard, but did heare
them threaten his fellow servants that they would have the Indico's, as he hath
before deposed, Amd saith that the said Swanley, Terricke, Willey Jordan one
of their Pursers, and one [XXXXX] who was a Mate belonging to their
Companyes, came into the Cabin to this rendent But hade no weapons about
them that he could see, And otherwise referring him self to his foresaid
depositions to the first, and 2 Allegations, and foresaid answeres to the foregoing
interrogatories, he saith he cannot depose./

Upon the Allegation given in on the behalf of the
said Bowle Examined./

Rp. 1.us

Jeremiah Warren of Wapping in the parish of Saint Mary
Whitechappell in the County of Middlesex, Master of the Messina
Merchant, aged 38 or therabouts sworne and Examined deposeth
as followeth.

To the 2d article of the said Allegation he saith and deposeth That
that divers Masters of Shippes who are otherwise part owners
of theire shipps, of which they are Masters have frequently used to sell
and transferre away theire parts of theire shipps of which they are
Masters to other persons, and yet doe continue theire Masters shipps, and are
by those who did know they were part Owners and knew not of the alienation of
of the same Parts, which were notwithstanding reported Partowners, As also he [sold]
