Transcription
To the third hee saith that hee refereth himself to his foresaid depositions
and otherwise hee saith hee cannot depose./
To the 4th article and schedule annexed hee saith that att such time as hee this deponent came aboard the
Shipp the Mayflower there were fixed upon the Steerage in the said Shipp
the Rules and orders arlate with such penalties as in the schedule now showed unto
him so conteyned to be inflicted upon such, as should violate the same, and
hee well remembreth that the particular article of punishing such as should draw a knife
to doe mischeife, was one of the said Rules, which contained [?RXXX] as aforesaid
from the time of this deponents [?entrance] untill the said Shipp the Mayflower was
taken and further hee cannot depose./
To the 5th hee saith hee cannot depose./
To the 6th hee saith that saveing his foresaid depositions hee saith hee cannot depose
To the 7th hee saith hee knoweth not/
To the last hee saith that what hee hath deposed was and is true.

Upon An Allegation given in on the behalf of the said
Jackett 30 Aprill 1651. Examined.

The aforesaid Peter Steward Examined saith as followeth./
To the first article of the said Allegation hee saith that hee hath heard Captaine
Richard Crandley Samuell Vassall], Peter Andrews and others confesse and
acknowledge that they were Owners and imployers of the said Shipps
the Mayflower, and the Peter, for and dureing the voyage in controversie, And
saith that hee for his part was hyred by the producent att the Barbadas,
And otherwise hee saith hee cannot depose saveing that
that (sic) if any wages bee paid, the ffreighters and imployers aforesaid ought
to pay the producent, and then hee this deponent expecteth his wages of him the
said Jackett/
To the second hee saith that the said Shipps the Mayflower and the
Peter wherein the said Hickman was when this deponent was hyred into the said
service, did not make any part of delivery of their goods that hee knoweth of
neither did the said Owner and imployer receive any freight or make any benefitt
thereby, But the said Shipps and all theire Carrgazones to the vallue of
many thousands pounds were taken in the said voyage, and wholly and uterly lost
to the said owners, neither hath the producent or Companyes as yet received
any part of theire wages for the voyage in controversie, And further hee saith
hee cannot depose./

To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first hee saith that hee cometh to depose in this cause att the request of
the producent, And knoweth the parties litigant in this cause, and wisheth that
Justice may take place, and the victory to be given to them that are in the right
and otherwise hee answareth negatively.
To the 2d hee answareth That att his hyreing in the Barbadas
by Captaine Jackett hee made him his Mate from whome (as aforesaid) hee looketh
for his wages when hee is himself paid And otherwise knoweth not./
To the 3d hee saith that the producent tould this deponent that hee was one of the [?Adventurers GUTTER]
in the whole Carrogazon[?a], and had an Eight part therein, And further hee knoweth not
