Kings majestie of England and noe stranger of forainer hath any
intereste [?with] them in the said shippe or vessell and this hee
affirmeth uppon his oath to bee true/

Thomas Ottway of Newcastle in the County of Northumberland
mariner aged aboute 22 yeares sworne and examined as aforessaid saieth
and deposeth as followeth videlicet/ That about six weekes little more
or lesse before Christmas laste paste hee this examinate was hire
by the foresaid Roberte Peacocke at Newcastle aforesaid to goe over with
him from thense to Ostende in fflannders to helpe him to Rigge and
fitt and bringe over a shippe from thense which hee said hee had
bought there butt little before and the said Peacock was then newly
come over from Ostende or Dunquerke when hee hired this examinate,
and this examinate did accordingly goe over with the said Peacocke ato
Ostend and did there helpe him to grave a shippe fflemish builte and to Ryge
and fitt her to goe to sea and after shee was rigged and fitted
for the sea the said Peacocke with the helpe of him this examinate
and some others whome hee had alsoe hired for that purpose
did bringe the said shippe over from Ostend to Newcastle
and afterwards from Newcastle with Coales to London where shee is
now in the River of Thames and called by the name of the
Endeavour of Newcastle and the said Peacocke is Master and
parte owner of her and the coste of her doth nowe belonge to
certaine merchants and others resident at Newcastle and subiects
to the Kings Majestie of England And this hee affirmeth uppon his
oath to bee true./

James Colson of Newcastle in the County of Northumberland
marriner aged aboute 23 yeares sworne before the worshipfull
doctor James aforesaid beinge examined saieth and deposeth That
aboute five or six weeks before Christmas laste paste hee this examinate
was hired by the foresaid Mr Peacocke to goe from Newcastle with
him to Ostende in fflannders to helpe him to bringe over a shippe
from thense which hee said hee had bought there; and thereupon
this examinate and some others whome hee had alsoe hired for that purpose
did goe over with him from Newcastle to Ostende aforesaid and
after theire arrivall there did helpe the said Peacocke to grave
tryme and fitt a certaine shippe of the burthen of about 250
tunnes which shipp hee saieth was fflemish built and after they
had trimmed and ditted her for the sea they brought her from
Ostende to Newcastle, where they laded her with Coales
which they afterwards brought to London and the said
shippe is nowe in the River of Thames and called the
