- Go into edit mode
- Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
- Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
- Save the page

Thomas Nicholls servus William Greene partis
producent etatis 25 annorum aut eo circiter testis in hac
parte productus iuratus et examinatus.

sett downe the weighte of every severall parcell of
the sayd goods into the sayd Greene his booke of accompts called
the wast booke, and for that he hath nowe at the tyme of this his
examination a copie of the sayd particular goods schedulate which
he tooke out of the sayd wast booke which he havinge compared
with the schedule arlate doth finde to be agreable in all respects
with the sayd schedule, aswell in the particular quantityes of the
sayd goods as the vallues of them. And this he affirmeth uppon his
aoth to be true. Et alr nescit deponere.
