The personall Answeres of Joseph drew
made to the pretensed positions of an Allegation
given against him in the name of the Lord
Protector as followeth

1. To the first he answereth and believeth that the
goods mentioned in the schedule arlate were taken and
seized in some ships or vessells belonging to the ffrencg
by some of the ships of this Commonwealth, and were
afterwards proceeded against in this Courte upon the Generall
Reprizalls granted against the ffrench, but as to the condemnation
he knoweth nothing thereof but rferreth himselfe to the
Records of this Court which be believeth to be true
And otherwise doth not believe the said Article to be
true in any part.
